Endless Waters translated by Linda Yechiel
The ninth triennial prize for translation from Hebrew to English was awarded in February 2023 to Linda Yechiel for her translation of House on Endless Waters by Emuna Elon.
The award is sponsored by the Edith & Ferdinand Porjes Trust in association with the Times Literary Supplement and administered by the Jewish Book Council, in association with the Society of Authors.
The prize of £2,000 was awarded to the winning translator of a full-length book of general interest and literary merit, published in English, between January 2019 and December 2021, although the original may be from any period.
The winner was announced in the Times Literary Supplement and the prize was awarded at the Society of Authors Literary Translation Prize ceremony in February 2023, held at the British Library.
Hameiri's Hell on Earth translated by Peter C. Appelbaum
The winner of the 2019 prize was Peter C. Appelbaum for his translation of Avigdor Hameriri's Hell on Earth.
